I Am Home Now

I have spent the past hour writing a blog that I just deleted. Actually, I didn't delete it but ordered it to exile in my Yahoo draft section.

And so this evening, I'm not writing about what I really want to write about. I am going to do the exact opposite and write about everything but that which I was all fired up about. I may reconsider. But at this juncture, the blog didn't seem prudent. Perhaps I will change my mind in 24 hours. The Surge advised me to sleep on it. And so I shall.

Speaking of his Rockboyness, I got a chance to see The Surge one more time before he heads out to show us how the west can be won. Marah played at the Stone Pony in Asbury Park last night and I can safely say a good time was had by all. Man do I love me some Marah. Forget the fact that my husband and brother are in the band. They blow me away every single time they get on a stage.

It struck me last night, smack in the middle of the always bewitching Phantom Eyes, that this group of ridiculously talented people is family. A year and some change ago, immersed in the rebublican stronghold of Utah, I could never have fathomed I would know people like Dave and Serge Bielanko. They are cooler than James Dean, more passionate than Jesus, and as talented as any musicians that came before.

I would be sorely remiss if I didn't mention the always affable Kirk "The Barber" Henderson. And the new boys from Philly... Then there are my Shalitas .. this crazy, sexy, cool gaggle of gals that I am equally in love with.

Ms. Christine, the world traveler who is always game for a discussion on anything from why a blow job isn't called a suck job to religions of the world.

Xmastime and his one-liners (hey-OH!) and the fact that his personality fills a room until his fabulousness is oozing out the cracks and into the street.

Donny Pizza Sauce, who loves my Maxer almost as much as I do and who is as devoted to The Surge and Dave as their mother.

Peter and Paul, the disciples.. so named because they are charged with the weighty task of leading Marah to the Promised Land.

And last but not least, Zoe and Lynn, who aren't around as much as I'd like but it don't matter none. If The Surge ever leaves me I'm sure to take up as a second wife (no fighting ladies, you can have me equally - we'll set up a calendar, like a chore chart we can affix it to the fridge to properly divvy me up... and threesomes can be nice too!)

What if I never knew you existed? What if I decided to not go to the bar that night? What if I didn't drive 20 hours to meet The Surge in Texas? I wouldn't know that people like you are out there grabbing themselves lusty handfuls of life!

Let's be proud of us! We are living life. We aren't observing, content to watch others do and be. We are doing! Taking colassal, juicy bites out of life every day whether it's through our music, photographs or words. Taking cues from no one, we are forging our own way in this crazy, mixed up life..

There is no one else on the planet like any one of you. I am amazed and pleased that we all found each other.. Our gang - down the street we kinda meet by bodega flowers, half the time we will have a time... I am home now.

As I read your stories & learn more about you I find myself rooting for you & I'm not even sure why.
I don't have much in common with you. I'm older than you (37) and have a great hubby & two wonderful kids. I don't blog. In fact, I rarely reveal much about myself to people I don't know, especially on the net. I'm TERRIBLE at expressing myself in writing. But, since coming across your blog I'm compelled to read on.
I love the story about how you met 'the Surge'. On the outside, you seem to have it all. But then I read more and you reveal this vulnerable, insecure side of yourself to us & I just want to give you a big hug.
OK, this has nothing to do with your current journal entry. Just wanted you to know I'm enjoying the blogs.
Oh, and if you ever need a dog sitter, Max is always welcome to stay w/ us in Jersey. :-)
(He does get along w/ other dogs, right?)

I would moonwalk back across this long long land to rub your foot, baby.

At every turn of though: you are there, before me.

Back soon.
Love,
